Pakka is the heavier, longer-life material — a fuller wire for the stated gauge and a more consistent weld. Commercial is lighter and cheaper, and it is the right call for temporary site boundaries, crop protection and anything that will be moved again. Both are labelled and priced separately; we never substitute one for the other.

As a rule of thumb: 16G and 14G for plaster mesh, cladding and light screens; 12G and 10G for garden and poultry boundaries; 8G where the fence has to stand on its own between posts. For chainlink, 3 MM suits residential runs and 4 MM is the industrial choice. Tell us the span and what it is holding and we will confirm.

It is the aperture — the size of the opening — in inches. A 1 × 1 mesh has one-inch square holes; 2 × 2 has two-inch. Smaller apertures hold smaller things and cost more per square foot because there is more wire in them.

GSM is the weight of zinc per square metre of wire surface. At 120 GSM there is measurably more zinc than on standard galvanised wire, which is what buys the extra years in coastal and high-rainfall conditions. Inland, on a fence you expect to replace in a decade, standard GI is usually the better value.

Yes — Grip, Y Wing and T Wing posts from 3 ft to 6 ft, and they ship on the same order as the mesh. The lengths quoted are the total length including the section that goes into the ground, so allow for the buried portion when you work out finished height.
